Submitting Proposals
Initial inquiries about publication should be made directly to the appropriate sponsoring editor at the Press. Do not send complete manuscripts. Prospectuses should be sent as hard copy to the following address:

For computer security reasons, we do not accept email submission of prospectuses, and any email message containing attachments will be ignored.
We recommend that prospectuses include the following:
- A two- or three-page cover letter outlining the manuscript’s argument, general content, significance to the field, fit with existing literature or competition, intended audiences, length, and plans for tables and illustrations.
- A detailed outline of the book
- A sample chapter (optional)
- A curriculum vitae
The Press accepts proposals for four different types of book:
- Academic books that aspire to make a significant contribution to scholarship in their respective fields. Currently, the Press accepts such works in the following fields: Asian studies and Asian-American studies, philosophy, Middle East studies, history, literature, literary and cultural theory, religion, Latin American studies, sociology, anthropology, political science, public policy, law, education, economics, and business.
- Books for professionals that combine outstanding scholarship with practical application. We accept works in business, economics, finance, quantitative methods, law, public policy, and education.
- Textbooks for graduate and upper-level undergraduate students in all the above disciplines
- Works of regional interest
