Stanford University Press values the privacy of our customers' personal information and strives to utilize that information only a manner that is beneficial to our customers. Our sign-in feature gives visitors the opportunity to indicate that they would like to receive promotional information, discounts, and news. However, customers are NOT automatically signed up for promotions just by making a purchase.
There are several benefits to signing up for promotions. We do not sell or otherwise provide our promotional contact lists to third parties. The information we collect is used for internal review, to improve the content of our website, and obviously, for direct mail and email promotions.
