How to Order Online
E-books
It is now possible to purchase Ebooks directly on our website; ebooks purchased on SUP.org are accessible only through the free app, Academic Reader, powered by Glassboxx. For more information about ordering and reading Stanford University Press ebooks, please click here. For technical or ordering assistance, please contact our help desk at ARhelp@glassboxx.com.
Most recent titles are also available as e-books with the major retailers. We are continually making books available on Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, Google Play, various aggregators to which colleges and universities subscribe, and other partners. Our goal is to make as much of our content available digitally as possible.
Find the book you wish to purchase
Each book page displays the formats available (hardcover, paperback, ebook – note that ebooks generally become available on our site a short time after the print books). Click on the format you wish to purchase; if you select an ebook, you may need to choose an ebook format (PDF or EPUB) – for more information about ebook formats, click here.
If you are ordering a hardcover or paperback outside the US and Canada, click on INTERNATIONAL under Region, and then ADD TO CART. (You do not need to make this selection for ebook purchases, which will be processed on our site regardless of geographic location.)
Next Steps
If you are ready to purchase, then follow the instructions on the shopping cart screen to continue your order. You will need to provide an email address, shipping and billing address, and a valid Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express card. Paypal and Apple Pay are also accepted.
Your items will only remain in your shopping cart during your current browsing session. They will need to be added again if you restart your browser or move to a different browser.
After all of your payment information has been entered, you will need to review and confirm your order. An automatic confirmation email will be sent to the address you provide. Your credit card or payment service statements and receipts will show our ecommerce partner, Glassboxx, as the source of the transaction.
